As a professional bicycle mechanic with 30 + years of experience under my belt I have put a substantial polish on many a black oxide set of "L" shaped ball end allen keys from Bondhus. Bondhus brand allen keys have never disappointed me. None broken, several bent (but unbroken) from misuse, just an exceptional value considering the low price for brand name VS generic. The gold finish feels special, like a reward, and has stayed unblemished through a lot of use.

Bondhus 38099 GoldGuard Finish Ball End L-Wrench Hex Key, 9 Piece Set

Originally bought the gold metric and silver standard sets. The metric set gets a lot more use and abuse daily. First set lasted a couple of years before one of the set was lost. Second set, I had some that got twisted and one ball end broken off (both due to coworkers abuse). Before I had a chance to return for replacement they lost another one. This will be my third set of the metric golds in the last 6 years and I honestly have no complaints. For regular use these hold up very well. Most allen sets I have had in the past, the ball wears down after a few months. These kept their shape for 3+ years. Only issue I have is my coworkers like them a little too much and will take and leave them all over the plant.

Bondhus 38099 GoldGuard Finish Ball End L-Wrench Hex Key, 9 Piece Set

Love these plated (thus rust resistant) and ball end (easy to insert/work at slight angles) wrenches. This is my third set.Now if only they came with a way to make sure people, by which I mean my kids, put them back in the retainer when done! I’m on my third set for a reason.
