Seemed like a great product at first and when testing on a workbench at close range - perfect conditions. But on the roof, stapling roofing felt or when stapling house-wrap at even a slight angle, forget it - the staples either get mangled or don't go all the way in. One has to hammer them in or take them out. I definitely will not recommend buying this product. And oh, the staples are not readily available in local stores (Canada). I had to buy on Amazon. Good luck!
I read many bad reviews for these staplers. Unfortunately, people may not realize that professional insulators use this type of “slap hammer” to install vapor barriers.The design is meant to be lighter than other staplers (for speed), simple to open when loading/clearing a jam (again for speed), and very easy to operate.With many years in insulation, there is no better stapling tool for light applications (vapor barriers/batt insulation) in my opinion.
I have replaced a 10yr+ old model with 3 in the past year. The dont work for long before they start jamming, I always use genuine Bostitch staples. The guns or the staples are made cheaper, , either way it's time for change.
I did not like this product. I did not use it right after buying it so it is too late to return now. I do not like this tool. I works about 25% of the time. The staples that are made for this tool always get jammed or don't feed completely. I am very disappointed with this product.
The H30-8 is the big dog on the block . Been using them for 40 years . Yes they take specialty stapes but who cares , it’s actually easier having them come to my doorstep then going out hunting for them . Comes with a parts list in the box so if down the road you need to fix it just call up Bostitch and get the part you need . Also the H30-8 is top loading which means no fumbling around with back spring which also causes constant jamming …… (see Arrow hammer tacker) . Don’t waste your time and money on Arrow junk .
Awesome slapper and extremely durable. Do not buy the H30-6. It for some reason wouldn’t even put out a single 3/8 staple. Bought this model and zero issues.
Shingle paper and tyveking can’t be easier. Some guys don’t like that it doesn’t hold more staples. I’m stuck in my ways and this stapler hasn’t let me down yet!
This stapler does NOT take a standard hammer tacker staple. Why anyone would design this to take a special staple is beyond me.It was my fault for not paying attention to the details. I just assumed all hammer tackers take the same staples.I never got to use this product but it did feel well made. The front load design does involve a fairly weak looking spring though.If you like the idea of buying a specialty staple for a run of the mill tool this might be the product for you.
This is an outstanding tool cannot do my job without it it is so easy to operate. It's made with outstanding quality. :-) will be a returning customer!
The stapler feels sturdy and works well but I did have a few jams that were really difficult to clear. I was using the correct style of staple so I was disappointed to see that it jammed relatively often.
Stapler works great. I can't find staples anywhere but online. It is such a hassle. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, and even my local mom and pop hardware store don't carry this specific style of staple.
Out of 35 years and an entire shop filled with tools, this is the worst tool I've ever owned. This tacker only takes Bostitch staples, which is not necessarily the end of the world, but it's a pain because most hardware stores don't carry them. Much more important though, out of 400 staples I needed for felt floor underlayment, it probably jammed on 40. Of course, the packaging was gone by then, so no return. I literally threw it away on the first day I used it. I have an Arrow hammer tacker now. No comparison.
