I have ordered and re-ordered, but every one of these wrenches is defective. The jaws stick at various points along the travel, because the knurled threads are slightly too large in diameter and the tops of the threads contact the jaw.
Purchased this for AN bulkhead fittings on car bulkhead. great clearance and on marrying on anodized fittings unlike the aluminum that scratch eveytime.
I love this wrench because the jaws are deep, narrow and wide enabling a variety of applications in tight spots. I also like the fact that the jaws can be used as a caliper to measure the size of the nut of bolt-head.
The area that you use to tighten or loosen is sharp and hurts my thumb and forefinger. Adjusting was not easy and did not work for my project of simply changing the shower head. Thinking of returning.
There's not many fasteners where you'd want to use an adjustable wrench in the automotive world. This tool does the job perfectly for those a/c hose and other hydraulic fittings. Mostly places where you need a big wrench, but the fastener isn't torqued too tight. This adjustable wrench opens up quite a bit and fits diesel fuel fittings very well too. This is probably the only adjustable wrench a mechanic would ever need and I definitely recommend it.
Modern designer faucets can look nice but are not designed to be worked on with standard tools. During a repair, I found myself in a situation with no solution to be found in my garage and I have hundreds of tools. I was just about to grind down a Crescent wrench but then I found this. It was perfect and I totally get why Channellock makes it. It seems to hold its place well which has always been a problem with adjustable wrenches. I will likely never use it again but it was worth it. I say never use it again because for larger jobs I would use a tradition wrench you can wail on with a hammer if you have to. Not saying this isn’t strong but why risk a hammer on it when you don’t have to?
The wrench is very well made and should last your a lifetime. I was looking for a low-profile jaw that I can use in tight spaces and this is a keeper. The wrench is easy to adjust and has a width scale on both sides in metric and royal measurements.
Dimensions: cut out part is 4.5mm thick, 22 long. part touching that starts at 11mm thick and maxes out to 14.ugly handle comes easily off with a scalpel (good)edge finishing is subpartool seems functional
Only had it for a week or so. So far, excellent. It has more play on the jaw than they claim but overall is rather well made. Worm screw is mega accurate.
Ugh. $40 and the upper and lower jaws are easily a millimeter off from lining up, with the lower (moveable, maxillary jaw) shifted to the right, as it seems it always is with these junk wrenches. Made in the USA? Me thinks not. Since Channellock has no quality control, or pride in their products, I order a few and returned the ones that were clearly defective. The keeper is defective as well, but it was the best of the bunch.
