I don't normally buy tools off Amazon but needed this one quickly and didn't have time to go shopping. This long Dewalt tape is great. I've never had a DeWalt tape before but now thinking of getting more.
This product is exactly as pictured/described!It's good quality & easy to use!My order arrived before the promise delivery date; in excellent condition!100% recommend this seller!
Had this for a year and it has been great. I finally needed it for measuring over 100' and when it got to 93' the tape came out of the case. It had been broken there since day 1. I love Dewalt but I will be replacing this with another brand.
The prongs needed to hold the tape to the board don't stick, and when winding the tape back in its hesitant and unsmooth.Only a matter of time before it breaks on me.I expect better from Dewalt.
After a number of conventional measuring tapes failed (loss of retraction system) I decided to get a hand winding tape. I couldn't be much more satisfied.
Overall a decent tape… except after every 12” the inch measurement resets to one. Instead of 14” this would read 2” and you would then have to look back to see the foot marker. Infuriating product. Not for professionals.
Tape measure works for what I need it to however it gets stuck when you wind it up. Easy to pull tape out and doesn't snap back at you which for me is important because I have small children. But I also want to be able to wind the tape back up without a struggle and this isn't the product that does that. If you have time after measuring to sit there and deal with the tape than this product is for you. However, if you don't have time then you may need to move on from this.
Tried it one time even after letting the tape out all the way it still would not roll up smoothly. The dirt window had to be forced to open. I have used used Dewalt tools for years but this one failed! I switched over to Milwaukee.
Arrived quickly. The casing is overall quality. The cons are that you still need someone to help you if you're not measuring a relatively short or flat surface because the tape, while steel, is thin and doesn't stay in place. Also, it measures in feet not inches. It would be ok still despite that, but when you pull the tape out past a short distance--which is the only reason anyone would buy a 100ft tape measure--it doesn't retract back in despite winding it (the one we were sent doesn't anyhow).
Initial impressions - great heft, solid construction and quality materials. This tape was exactly what I was looking for. The release mechanism makes it easy to stretch it out for longer distances. The crank retrieves the tape very quickly too.The numbers and markings are clear and easy to read.Overall a very good tool that should last longer than me…
