Overall rating: 3.5 / 5 from 87 reviews.
It’s everything I expect from Dewalt. Follow directions, oil, etc. and it works great (like with anything). I like it’s multi function choices, was able to place chicken wire on the coop and place brads in a few straps with little issue.
This unit does it all, nails, shots multiple length staple and secures cable.I have used this to shoot brad nails through trellis battens easily and best of all it does it without battery's, power cords or compressed air.It is that must have bit of kit, you will use everyday and wonder how you ever did with out it.I am very happy to recommend both the store and the amazing Multi-Tacker
Out of the first 10 T50 staples 8 jummed. I thought I should have listened to the negative reviews. But... After spraying silicone lubricant into the inside parts and rail, moderately, out of 70 staples not one failed. Same with T53(JT21) and brad nails. So far more than 200 staples and nails, not one jummed. So, excellent stapler.
We love this brand and all other tools we have work great. This one was a dud though. Works fine for the first 10 or so staples after being loaded and then constantly jams or mis-fires. Do not recommend, we are returning.
I am writing this minutes after having a satisfying temper tantrum that resulted in this product being thrown against a tree, smashed onto the driveway and then pounded into pieces with a 3-lb steel mallet. Yes, I feel better. It's true I may have anger management issues, and all the shrieking profanity and flying junk means the cops are probably on their way, summoned by terrified neighbors. Sorry, Bob!This thing was brand new and despite repeated tries and much profanity, it refused to work. Well, it definitely refuse to now! But before it met it's final end, it would pop open, jam, not trigger at all or whatever else it had the whim to do...besides work. Repeated and careful study of the instruction sheet helped nothing. Banging the staples in with my teeth would have been better and less aggravating. So, if you have anger management issues, too, do NOT buy this product. Do not accept it as a gift. It will lead to your involuntary commitment. Buy another staple gun with literally any other name on it, anything. Even something named Bob...like my aforementioned neighbor...would be better.
Reading these bad reviews, I was reminded how horrible this device works (or how it undeniably DOESN'T work.) I had issues when I bought it a while ago, but needed to use it again today and took a tumble down memory lane. I thought, at the time that maybe I was loading it wrong or maybe had a bad batch of staples... yeah, right. These reviews from the Home Depot and Amazon web pages has shed the light on a shoddy product. I am now going to purchase a simple, yet dependable competitor's product. The DeWalt name shouldn't be anywhere near this turd of a tool.
this is a waste of money . it will shoot the staple into your wires. ive had to rerun my cat5 cables due to this junk and also fiber cables. wasted my time and money.DONT BUY!!
Using to hang insulation and I never thought such a little tool could frustrate me this much. I threw I one time, right in the trash can were it belongs. Take my advice, buy something else. This is nothing but trash with a Dewalt name on it.
I only have tried using staples to attach 1/4 in wood furring. This has more impact when adjusted to the higher level. easy staple loading and trigger handleI'm impressed.
I don't know if it's because it's refurbished or just crap but this thing jams constantly. The staples appear to not go in level and I think that has something to do with it.
I bought this to replace an Arrow unit thinking that, like most DeWalt products, it would be a safe bet. I was sorely mistaken.Jams, only applied pressure on one of the staple legs, more jams, the body of the unit was misaligned when loading staples, jams, staples came out backwards (?!) even more jams, couple and triple feeds, and oh by the way it JAMS alot. I use my tools more than the average homeowner, but less than a typical contractor, so maybe I needed to break this in after 10000 staples before discounting it. Maybe I needed to try a third brand of staples. Maybe I needed to read the directions. But I don't think so: it's a staple gun. You're supposed to pull it out of the toolbox, use it, and forget about it. You're not supposed to have to beat it against the ground to get it to open because it jammed so bad the slide twisted. You shouldn't have to shoot three blanks for every (kind of) straight staple, and you shouldn't have to give up on your project for an hour to go get a replacement Arrow exactly like the one that failed after 20 years of abuse.Dewalt, hopefully you look into this because this tool is an outlier in an otherwise very reliable and dependable product lineup. Please fix this trash tool.
I figured being a DeWalt, this stapler would perform just fine. Wow, was I wrong! On the light duty setting it was completely incapable of stapling at all. Every staple at this setting either got jammed or fell back into the staple feed rail. The heavy duty staple setting gave me maybe a 50% success rate. I also tried some 18 gauge, 5/8" brads which this stapler is supposed to handle. Unfortunately, the brads wouldn't work no matter the setting used. This is a surprisingly terrible product made by a brand I normally trust. I will be returning it asap!
I bought this for work to staple on corner bead (I do drywall finishing) and it is a peice of crap! Right out of the package it misfired allot of the time and won't even go through the bead. I was so excited to use this new gun and had to borrow someone else's just to get my work done. I would not recommend this stapler and am dissafied with it's performance.
