Well made tool, glad I purchased it.
Eleazar Torp
These bight like no other locking pliers on the market. I've had my snap on vice grips spin and switched to these and they just dig in and hold. Highly recommend.
Tshepiso Joseph
The Malco Eagle Grip is an improved version of the Vice Grip, which is made in the same factory, in Dewitt, Nebraska. It's a long story, but they improved on the original and decided to quit making them a few months ago. These things are beautiful, I bought two pair. Pricey, but the kind of tool that will last you a lifetime.
Wyman Beer
One of the best built tools I own. Would love to purchase more products from them.
Frida Davis
These are the absolute best locking pliers for professionals. Made by Malco these are the best of the best. You get what you pay for.
Frederique Zemlak
Made in USA. Well made. Works great !
Wendy Beier
I did not need this tool, but got one anyway because I am a sucker for a very well made USA tool--even if I rarely use it. Malco company is a good story too. It's great to see that even though Irwin cheaped out and moved manufacturing to China, this co. came through and flourished. Some people WILL pay for quality made USA products, and this Eagle Grip is a good example of that. The finish is unbelievable and quality looks rock solid. Someday I'll hand this down to someone--so kids, if you are reading this be nice, and please stop asking me for money, lol.
Unathi Koekemoer
The only downside on this tool is the price. There are two-dollar locking pliers out there, but you'll never be happy to own a pair. These, these are made in DeWitt, Nebraska in the former Vise Grips factory that was shuttered by Newell Rubbermaid, who shifted production to China. Malco rounded up some of the old Vise Grips employees and spent a few years improving on the classic DeWitt-built tool. And this is it. Tighter, stronger, more precise than the old Petersen Vise Grips that might have been passed down to you, but entirely a child of that extraordinary tool. William Petersen, that genius imagineer of handheld leverage, would be very proud to carry one of these Eagle Grips.
Elmira Nolan
Made in America… and it shows! This thing is a beast!! This tool will last a lifetime.
Beth Jones
The best locking pliers you will ever buy, Period.
Juliet Rubalema
I like that this product is made in Dewitt, Nebraska just like the original ones that I already have, we will see how they hold up next to them.
Lynette Booysen
I wanted to see if this thing could break my finger like a real eagle could do if it wanted to with their fierce talons. It did. Five starts.
Wynand Van Eeden
We blue print engines for greater performance…why not vice grips ? It’s great to have a nice American tool. I was considering the comments on the finish. Cleans up easier now . I think after decades of dealing with the quirks of the original, we never considered using a version that receives a further level of refinement. Remember the overcam lever always falling out ? The rounding over of the teeth in the jaws? The wire cutter that never quite closed all the way ?I look forward to some small needle nose pliers some day
Tremayne Wiza
and these are absolutely worth every penny they cost. Absolutely the best locking pliers made today. Made in the USA at DeWitt Nebraska, where Vice Grip brand was made before being sold to Irwin & manufacturing moved to China. These are as strong if not stronger than the vice grips my dad bought 50 years ago, with a fit & finish that is equal to none. I now own 2 pair of the 10” & a pair of 7”. But don’t just take my word for it, go over to Project Farm on YouTube & watch them put to the test.If you just need a pair of locking pliers that you may use one or twice, sure, buy the cheap ones. But if you need them on a regular basis, & want the best, then Malco is the one you want. And you will be passing them down to your grand children to use.
Vincent Osiki
This pair of locking pliers are awesome, there extremely well made. Teeth stay sharp and really grip.
Alexandrea Jacobs
I was very skeptical about these locking pliers, but decided to give them a shot. I normally spring for the cheaper options when it comes to tools, my primary shopping happening at a place that rhymes with Arbor Trait. When these got dropped off at my door, I immediately knew these were winners. The fit and finish is immaculate, adjuster and locking/unlocking action is very smooth. There is little to no play in the jaws, unlike most other locking pliers I’ve used in the past.I cannot comment on the durability, but I fully expect them to last me a very long time, if not a lifetime.
Lilly Hunt
USA made, enough said. These are the best you can buy period...
Nozipho Legodi
American made amazing quality pliers if you are thinking about buying some inferior brand just pony up spend the extra money on these you will not regret it from packaging to the finish these are top notch
Toby Matthews
I have to say this is more than likely the best thing I have gotten from Amazon , for me its a last ditch tool but they are the best looking Vise Grips Ive used & bc of the Allen head slot in the tightener screw it made all the difference .
Willie Wisozk
This is what the original vice grips use to be. A little pricey but get what you pay for. These are on the snap on truck now rebranded snap on and cost quite a bit more. If your tired of cheap vice grips buy these
Vince Biyinzika
Top quality!
Mckenna Bergstrom
These are without a doubt, the shiniest and most expensive vise grips ive ever seen. Very nice, seem to be very heavy duty and the small amount I've used them so far hasn't phased them whatsoever. I feel like they are more expensive than they should be. I think around 30 bucks seems more appropriate but they were a father's day gift for my dad who does alot of repairing and tinkering sort of things. He sure likes them alot so it was worth the price I suppose.
Akhil Sibal
Extremely well made product. Way better than any other out there and best of all, MADE IN USA!!!
Rosie Lesch
The release goes the wrong way. You have to squeeze it away from the main body of the tool. This is both harder to do and allows you to be pinched. I wish they would reverse it like Knipex or some of the other brands. Otherwise the quality is there and is US made! Just fix the release lever and I will buy a whole set.
May Wisozk
This is my second pair of Malco USA made eagle grips. They work just like the old-school vise grips, but are clearly a step above the old USA made vise grips in overall quality, and 2 steps above the imported vise grips. I recently used them to hold 4 pieces of 4130 steel together for machining. I really cranked on them, the clamping strength was superb and my parts came out perfectly. These are extremely well made, with quality steel and will work every time.
Toluwani Atanda
Best locking pliers that I know of. I have used many different brands. Jaws meet up nicely and don’t flop around. A little pricey but the quality is definitely there.
Lexi Ward
The are of very good quality. Far better than anything you would find at Harbor Freight. Worth the price.
Dennis Wilson
Bought after watching a review on project farm. Not cheap, but really great quality. A great stocking stuffer.
Halie Howe
Yes, they are not cheap, but these things are heirloom quality like the real "original". Your grand-kids will be handing them down. And it's so pretty I'm afraid to scratch it!! Solid, feels good in your hand, and man do they grip. And of course, they are made in DeWitt Neb USA.
Kubura Tamunoemi
Best you can get, and its made in da USA. These are quality made....I can't address much to durability, caused I haven't pushed that hard...I'll use my cheap vise grips first in a push to the limit situation ...but if push comes to shove, I expect these to be the best.
Zainab David
Before I bought these I had cheapo Chinese lock grips that I basically never used because they were so terrible. Bad jaw alignment, soft jaws that deformed, not enough clamping pressure to be useful for much. These are in a whole different ball park. For example, to change my mower blade I just clamped the blade with these and tightened the knob with a 6mm and they served as a stop against the mower deck so I could break the nut loose. All purpose is back!!
Belle Rogahn
If you like nice things these are the ones to get. Not sure if the are actually better for household uses, but they sure are finished better.
Alden Cartwright
High quality and durable
Shobha Nori
I did a lot of research on this tool especially on YouTube on the channel, “ project farm“It’s the best and it’s made in the United States of America. Don’t like crap from China they try to kill us remember?
Natalia Tusiime
Ordered these based on Project Farm's recommendation and extremely happy with the pliers. The fit and finish is top notch with ground surfaces matching seamlessly. Locks up smoothly and holds great. Best plaid of locking pliers I've used.
Adeboye Ehigiator
They are not cheap but work better than all the others in my tool box
Jolayemi Olasunkanmi-fasayo
I bought these apparently high-end-pliers after seeing a very objective YouTube review that took a bunch of different tools of different brands, including Locking Pliers, and tested them with like with a torque wrench trying to twist a bar out of their grip, and these scored unexpectedly high. At the time I saw the review, I was frustrated and stuck in the middle of a jet boat job in which I could not twist a frozen end fitting off of a threaded cable, because whenever I tried to twist it off, even with propane torch heat and penetrants like PB Blaster and WD-40, the cable spun in the jaws of my 10" and 12" bargain locking pliers. I took a chance and order the 7" model (then the only one in stock) for like $40 to see if they could crack the boat job, and darned if the fitting didn't come right off without a slip once the jaws on these pliers were locked on the cable. No heat, no more penetrant, just a tight, tight grip. As the video review showed me, you get what you pay for, and these units seem head and shoulders above the bargain ones in terms of the sharpness and durability of their jaws, the amount of torque they can take on the "tightening knob", and how much squeeze pressure they can comfortably apply. No more bargain pliers for me.
Muriel Stehr
Extremely well built and high quality tool that's well built. I am sure will last me last me a lifetime.
Ghanshyam Lalla
very well mde
Marion Orishaba
Made in US the right way
Emeka Mobolaji
Worth every penny. Work as good or better than my vintage ViseGrips. Hard jaws perfectly aligned. Good release. Do not fall into the trap of cheap Chinese imitations -- this is the real deal.
Augustina Elebiyo
Made in Nebraska. The best actually got better
Andile Skosana
I’ll always pay more for quality American made tools. Love this brand. My 3rd pair of locking pliers from them. Hoping they make smaller needle nose versions
Golden Aufderhar
Beautiful, well-crafted and durable tools. These vice grips will last a lifetime.
Lisa Brown
Beautiful and highly functional tool. Very, very sturdy. Better than the originals by Irwin. Of course, that comes at a pretty hefty cost, but these will last. I don't need a vice grip all that often, but when I do, I want it to work well. This one does.
Nayan Lad
I’ve been through made vice grips and this is a must buy. If your hell bent on USA made tools like I am don’t hesitate. Quality is spot on!
Francis Mbabazi
This isn't venture capitalists offshore junk that bends or breaks off in your hand the minute times get tough. This is the last shreds of American pride that rose from the ashes. If you know what these are you know what I mean. You will find no better..period
Clark Fadel
The quality is outstanding
Rajendra Grewal
Very nice fit and finish. The lower jaw has very little movement in it for locking pliers. Would really like to see a smaller version and a needle nose with this build quality. Made in the USA!
Patricia Khan
There really aren't anything bad to say about these tools if you have ever picked up a pair you will know right away how good they are and they work even better
Devan Pfannerstill
Perfect finish, quality over center latching system. What the real Vise Grips used to be before Irwin bought them out and shipped it all to China
Kacie Hudson
Pay the price and get the real deal. I have bought both 7s and both 10s and love them. They lock on and hold so well. Clamp them onto the inside of that stabilizer link and zap that nut off no problem. Snap on sells them now under their name so you know this is the real deal. Hope they start making the needle nose versions soon.
Luis Ouma
All around best tools ever built. And I ain’t kidding!
Gudrun Schaden
I remember 30 years ago genuine Vice Grips would never slip when you really needed them. Then something changed, maybe they moved manufacturing offshore, started using cheaper materials, who knows but they no longer worked like the old days.Over the years I tried buying new Vice Grips, Snap-Ons version, Harbor Freight, Milwaulkees etc. All were "just ok" and would still slip when you really needed them. I'm happy to report after a few months of owning these Eagle Grips they have not let me down. My co-workers always want to borrow them when they have a rounded bolt etc. since no other locking pliers work as well. These grips are not cheap, but they are worth every penny, especially when it's they only tool that will get you out of a jam. They have a quality feel and will likely last tens of years. Do yourself a favor, spend the money for a quality tool THAT DOESN'T SLIP.
Clement Lemke
The fit , finish ,and quality of these pliers is fantastic. These are the finest locking pliers on the market. I am very pleased
Margarita Quigley
A quality tool everyone should experience at least once in life. I bought my 1st vise grip in 79 and been using them ever since. I have never had one this nice before and didn't know what I was missing. My others are junk in comparison.
Danielle Brown
USA MADE PERIOD!
Tobiloba Justina
Really really well made locking pliers.Even better than my original Made in USA Vice Grips from the 1980's.Great to see hand tools still being made and made well in the US.
Lesley Blignaut
Everything about this tool is perfect, a little more money but well worth it.
Qabeel Nagarajan
Absolutely amazing. Puts the new Irwin models to shame. Comparing the 7 in. Malco Eagle Grip LP7WC with the 10 in. Irwin Vice Grips 10WR, the Malco made the entire difference between completing my project successfully and not completing it at all.The grip on the pliers needed to hold to a relatively thin, hollow, steel, inner tube to which a stuck cap was threaded. The cap had vertical grooves machined into the steel for gripping purposes, so there was no issue with either set of pliers gripping the cap.First, I tried using the larger pliers (Irwin) on the inner tube, thinking that the increased area of contact would allow a better grip, and using the smaller Malco pliers on the cap. The Irwin had to be tightened so much that it warped the inner tube and it still could not grip well enough to break the stuck threads. It slipped and continued to bend the tube. Then I swapped the positions of each, so that the Malco now gripped the fragile inner tube and the Irwin was on the easily grippable cap. The threads came loose on the very first attempt without any further bending of the tube. Problem solved. Buy the Malco. This huge difference in gripping strength is very much valued as someone who works on a variety of things, not all of which are, e.g., industrial grade automotive steel. The Malco cost me approximately 4 times what I paid for the Irwin, but in my case, the gripping strength of the Malco made the difference between accomplishing the task and not accomplishing the task, and for me, that's the only difference that matters.
Mariane Barton
This manufactured in the US tool puts my others to shame. I have actual Vise Grips and a vintage pair of Klein that were my go toos. The ones you find now make you want to throw them in the lake, or actually do it. The jaws on the competition, slide side ways under pressure. Not these if the hinge joints had any less play, they wouldn’t be hinges. Pay the premium price when you pass it on to your child after years of use they will thank you! Don’t hesitate pull the trigger now!
Marjory Nabasa
I seldom care enough about a product to write a review, but these pliers deserve one. Exceptional quality, the best I have ever seen or used. Yes, they are also the most expensive, but I consider them well worth the price, both for their quality, and for the fact that Malco invested so much in American manufacturing, by restarting the factory in DeWitt, Nebraska (population 500) that produced the original Petersen Vise-Grips for so many years. I have, and cherish, some old Petersen pliers, and in direct comparison, these are even better. Better fit and finish, stronger, and more user friendly. I also own some German-made BollmannGrip locking pliers that I bought new, and the Eagle Grips surpass these as well, in all of the same ways. BollmanGrips are great, but now there is something better, and it's made in America to boot. Eagle Grips have sharper and harder teeth, and can bite into and turn fasteners that the BollmannGrips cannot. All of the moving parts are assembled to tighter tolerances, with no "slop" in the joints. They have a better quality finish - in the forging of the jaws, the plating on the handles, the etchings/stampings, and the knurling on the adjustment screw. The jaws are machined to fit perfectly. Both the BollmanGrips and the old Vise-Grips are very good quality tools, and I don't expect them to ever break, but Eagle Grips take everything to the next level. The enlarged adjustment screw, and the "Power Ring" are big improvements, as is the fact that an Allen wrench can be used to increase the grip force after the pliers are locked onto the work. (Similarly, if the pliers are ever locked so tightly that it becomes difficult to release them, the Allen wrench may be employed to back the screw off).Big props to Malco for making such a solid product, and for doing it here in the U.S. Buy these. They will probably outlast you!
Christopher Herbst
LOVE IT
Tobiloba Maryjane
These are very high quality tools, I know they tested well and so I wanted to have them based on their quality and being American made. For the quality of the tool and the steel used, these aren't very expensive. I noticed one way to improve them for my use was to put some grip tape on them, the beautifully polished steel is a bit slippery or potentially, I just improved them to make them not slip at all.
Bhola Kant
Fit and finish are very nice. The steel is polished so it's easy to wipe down after use. The jaws are very sharp and pronounced and the collet where the adjustment knob is threaded through is a solid piece, not 2 halves folded together like the vice grips so you can snug it down really good and that area doesn't expand or lose tension. Definitely worth the price and also very nice that it's not made in China junk.
Obioma Oluwakemi
Great quality product
Juanita Aurishaba
These are simply amazing and I'm surprised they are not more widely known. Ordinarily I opt for Knipex and they do have their pluses but I've not really seen anything to equate with these in "locking pliers." I'm going to see whether they make other stuff because they should be. I found this in one of those video reviews the guy who is so methodical & systematic does of all kinds of (mostly) "maker" kinds of stuff - tools, adhesives, lubricants, etc.
Sebastian Thomas
What can I say, these are pretty much the ultimate adjustable locking pliers. For the money nothing else even comes close. Built to last 2 or 3 generations easily.
Erica Kaaya
Very high quality tool. They even beat my old USA made Vice Grips. Easily the best quality locking pliers on the market.
Isioma Sabdat
Comfortable to use, high quality, well thought out tool
Matthew Strydom
This tool is well made all new locking pliers suck this one is great a little pricey but it works they are contracted with Snapon so that says a lot bottom line if the works it worth it
Siphokazi Bosch
Made in USA. Steel seems much better quality than Vice grip brand.
Dolly Donnelly
Lots of companies make locking pliers - I've purchased many different brands over the years. This Malco pliers is by far and away the best. The build quality and finish are fantastic. The first time I used it I was sold. I'm happy I spent a few extra dollars to purchase the best!
Akande Adewale
These pliers are the best quality tool that I've seen in a long time. It is nice to see pride of craftsmanship for a change. They are much more expensive, but are worth it. This company is delivering the promise of quality and are putting Americans to work.
Stuart Walsh
Contrary to what a certain mfr claims, the real "original" Vise-Grips were made by Petersen Mfg in the USA. If you're old enough to remember those, you'll be thinking déjà vu when you see these - - and for good reason. They're made in the original Petersen factory in DeWitt, Nebraska. So far I've purchased the 7" curved, 10" curved, and 7" straight jaw. All are superb. The only downside (and it's minor) is that while the "old-school" pliers had a sandblasted finish, these are polished which can be challenging to hold onto if your hands are oily. And while not inexpensive, they're nonetheless a good value considering their exceptional quality.
Uzodimma Oyinkansola
Yes ! I’ll buy more !Made in the USA. Irwin cannot say that. These are the best vise grips made.
Pieter Nair
I am delighted to have this in my tool bag. Exceptional product exudes quality . I greatly appreciate that the adjustment screw is larger than featured on other similar vice grips. Wonderful finish, too.
Matilda Nayebare
Best vice grip pliers you can get right now. Project Farm did a video on 13 different models. The Irwin did pretty good, but if you want the best, these are it.
Anthony Botes
I’m in the garage door trade where a good pair of grips can mean the difference between going home at the end of the day and going to the hospital when working to fix a door that’s off track or has counterbalance issues. It’s not uncommon for a service truck to have 10 or more pairs of grips. My grandfather started our company in 1966 and we’ve been loyal to the “Other” brand since the start. When the “Other” brand shipped their production to China we noticed the differences immediately and weren’t exactly happy, we continued to buy them because it seemed everyone that tried to make a similar product goofed it up somehow. After initial testing I’m super happy to say Eagle Grips are without a doubt my new go to for grips! These are everything you need in a pair of locking pliers and more, all while keeping to the basics that make a great locking pliers. The fit is great and the finish is above and beyond what is necessary. The price point is right what I’d expect for a quality USA made tool. I have two more pairs on order already and look forward to swapping out all of mine, in fact we’ll even be supplying these for all of our technicians going forward. Thank you Malco and thank you DeWitt Nebraska for once again making a product I’m proud to own!
Juanita Langa
The attention to detail is incredible on the new Eagle Grip locking pliers. All my others are USA made Vice-Grip and I relegated other brands (Tekton, Irwin) to welding clamp duty. None compared to the original. The new Eagle Grip pliers are better in all ways I can look at including fit and finish, jaw precision, rivets, brazing, threaded portion at the rear of the handle is tremendously improved! And things like the stamping and edges are better. The action spring is improved with a tapered winding.I did not need these pliers, I wanted to support Malco’s efforts to re-establish USA manufacturing and the goal of making their product the best and a product the workers at this plant can be super proud of. I make my living with tools, always have and I not only support high quality domestic manufacturing I contribute to it with our own products. People who care about these attributes should support such companies. I plan to buy more, as gifts or when ever I need one.
Vada Will
I bought this tool after watching a review video on Project Farm where the Malco product swept the competition aside in every test. Made in America means a lot to me and for that I'll gladly pay the higher price. I was thrilled with my 7" pliers when they arrived (I also bought the 10"). The fit and finish are better than any vice-grip style pliers I have ever owned - by far! All the surfaces touched by hand are buffed to a silky smooth finish and it just feels good to operate with 1 hand. The action is precise - no loosey goosey fit you come to expect from cheapo harbor freight, or any other brand for that matter. The teeth line up absolutely perfectly side to side and front to back - I never expected that and not even sure it matters - but I love it! The adjuster screw threads feel precise and it looks to me like a lathe machined part, sharply knurled and black oxide coating - not the usual junky threads and sloppy knurled knob. I was impressed by the part marking on the tool, proudly stamped "USA". It comes in a very nice branded box with "Made in America" prominently marked on the outside. Inside the box, you get some more information about Malco and their commitment to their customers and their commitment to America herself. For that statement alone, they get this review. Their name should be listed on Chinanever dot com. If you're on the fence, don't be. Its a great value, high quality tool you'll be proud to own.
Devon Schuster
Welcome back to a fully made in America tool. The quality is fully there, very sturdy, very strong.I have many sets of locking pliers and this is my absolute favorite. This is a classic that will last many years.
Esmeralda Fadel
These new Vice Grips are actually better than the original American made models that they replaced from back in the day. Fit and finish are fantastic. I will be buying some additional sizes as they are released.
Jodie Baker
Great finish and great build quality! Good to see made in the USA locking pliers are back!
Mitchell Muller
This pair of locking pliers is the best I have ever used. I have original Vice Grips made in the same building 45 years ago and these are better. They far surpass a newer Irwin pair as well. Shame on US Tools for moving the business out of the country. Kudos to Malco for producing a superior product! And for bringing jobs back!
Busisiwe Motloung
Small company. My husband grew up with the family
Ronel Marx
Great product, would buy another pair.
Gerry Casper
Another review from a fellow Petersen USA vise grip fan. I just received the 7" malco eagle grip in curved jaw/wire cutter today. You know, it's always more exciting to open a new-old-stock vintage pair of Petersen's than it is to open today's super soft, misaligned jaw, disposible Irwin's or Milwaukee's (though, they do have their uses) This yearning brought me to try Knipex ones (I love their cobra pliers & pliers wrench) but their locking pliers left a lot to desire for me (shocked that they also used soft jaws). These malco pliers are so impressive, they make me feel funny. I may have to just keep them mint, by my chair to actuate and inspect again & again for a while. The look and feel of them alone...these are in a completely different league! If a quality pocket knife costs a person $100+, then these locking pliers are a bargain! As far as I know, this level of finish & quality in locking pliers is world premiere...if not, I never found them. Snap-On doesn't count, because those are actually these. I'm also hoping success brings new sizes. I would love to have a 4", 5" & 6" set of malco eagle grips for my small bag. So rarely does anything modern exceed what once was. And do it in the original factory building & address! Just brilliant. My grandfather would have also been blown away by these. I'm heading to order the 10" curved/wire cutter now...
Alejandra Cartwright
Malco made a superior product. I can't wait for more options.
Buddy Dach
These pliers are so nice -and expensive- that for me they are somewhere beyond the normal tool that you smack with a hammer, use a torch on, and leave in the back of the truck. It's great that DeWitt is up and running again, and pumping out the best "vise-grips" in the whole freaking world. Every American should buy a pair for that reason alone, as Ed Anger would say. But you'll still need some cheap-ass pliers to beat on.
Kaden Romaguera
The tool itself is great, and even better knowing the purchase is of an American Made tool. There are cheaper items out there - as long as you want the $ to flow out of the country. Buy this tool for a lifetime and still keep the $ circulating here.
Keyshawn Berge
Fantastic tool. This is a great USA made replacement for the old Peterson vise-grip.
Isabel Hill
Very well made American product. Worth the extra cost as these will last more than a lifetime and look great too!
Edward Brown
You will not find a better made pair of locking pliers anywhere. Malco tools make extremely high quality tools.
Tope Christian
These are really tight, well made
Ezra Muhwezi
Wow !!!!Those things are flat out AMAZING !!!I'm ordering more right now. They're better than the original Peterson Vise Grip pliers, of which I have 30 or 40 pairs.I've never seen any locking pliers better built EVER, and I've been accumulating tools since the laye 1970's.I am a true tool snob, and these things ROCK !!!!
Marley Okuneva
I recommend that anyone that even looks at them should buy them at least one pair
Clint Jansen van Rensburg
These are without a doubt, the best locking pliers you can buy. Full polish, no play, precise jaw alignment, smooth adjusting screw, large and strong rivets, comfortable in the hand. The folks in Dewitt have every reason to be proud of these.
Mike Herman
Sharp teeth and strong jaws for a good grip.
