I used them with a Kreg pocket hole jig for fastening a railing. These screws fit very closely and like all GRK screws they are very high quality structural fasteners.
These are soo much better than the stuff I’ve gotten at Home Depot. They drive super easy, they grab effortlessly, and no issues with stripped heads. Definitely worth it
I have a project to build garage shelves which drops from the ceiling. This RSS screw helped me to secure the beam tightly onto the ceiling. I think it has to do something with the built-in washer that helps pushing the beam. Regular deck screw wouldn't be able to close the gap between the ceiling's stud and the beam.
I love all GRK screws. It is my go-to screw for a variety of applications. I use these to drive 2x4 into 4x4 treated post. They are structural, so I consider these beefy enough for my needs. The washer head provides a more stable attachment.
Making a junior (low) loft 4 ft high we have low ceilings. 8x8 feet wide and long. Used these screws for framing as I have back and neck problems and it’s easier to use the drill than hammering into thick wood. No need to drill pilot holes if you go slow at first.
Very good quality screws. Replace lag bolts - save time by avoiding the need to pre-drill. I used these to anchor heavy duty 5” L brackets to the garage ceiling to create suspended overhead shelves.
A bit pricey but I got them fast. Their a great quality. Most installers use plan wood screws which are not recommended by Simonton. These screws are designed for vinyl windows.
These screws really sink in well and hold. I appreciate that the package comes with one of the special drill bits you need to use to drive them in. A great quality product
These strong, structural screws are great when sheer holding strength is needed. GRK makes quality screws and this design is brilliant.I recently hung a 200 pound mirror that had a heavy oak mirror/picture frame. the mirror was 48 inches wide and 72 inches; high. Two GRK screws anchored into the studs along the top of the frame was all that was needed. I used trim screws on the bottom part of the frame for keeping the mirror flush with the wall (and because trim screws are easier to conceal).
The RSS is a beast. The #10 3 1/8 ended up being great for sistering my 2x6 rough with 2x6 actuals. This is thicker (as you know by the #10) than the #8 JTS screw. These are very similar, I'm not really sure what the difference is, other than the JTS is a different bit. All of these packs (except maybe the blister pack) comes with the bit.Not much else to say, these pull hard and even with the flanged head, can easily countersink into regular untreated lumber - so don't go nuts. Are these more expensive than nails, for sure, but with the draw strength and thickness is incredible.Work smarter not harder, forget that unstable ladder or whatever else trying to slam in nails, get these.
