I like to keep these for the random drywall hanging task. These have always done a good job for me. I prefer these over the plastic anchors that need to be hammered in.
I haven't tested the claimed weight capacity, but I have used these for many things when putting a screw in drywall. They work well and you won't need a drill.
I've tried every other anchor you can buy. Even the plastic version of this one. These are perfect for every use. I have mounted many TVs to the walls with these. My speakers are hanging on wires on these. Totally worth the cost.
Says to use a screwdriver but ive been using a drill on the lowest setting. These things work great! Make installs quick and efficient and they hold up very very well. I was using them mainly in drywall. Hit a stud the other day with one and it went in like a champ without a problem
I do telecom work and started using these about a month ago after using cheaper brands that failed to often. By far these are the best for securing items to drywall. They just work. Save yourself some time and headaches and spend the extra money for these.
At best it goes in the drywall but with so little surface area of the anchor touching the drywall these easily just pull out. If you have to back out the screw for some reason the whole anchor comes out trashing the drywall in the process. This is a clever idea poorly thought out.If you are using one of their other well designed drywall anchors and hit a stud just use a wood screw and be done with it. These are complete garbage and I think unsafe.
I love everything about these screws. I have hung up 25 pound mirrors with ease as well as planters into a wall without a stud. It’s easy to use and I have complete confidence that it will hold.No more trying to figure things out with a stud finder.
Not all dry wall screws are created equal and these are by far the best. They work perfectly every time and can be screwed into tge wall either with an electric drill or with a handheld screwdriver. These screws are strong and can hold a significant amount of weight, even on plaster walls. I've tried other brands as well and they have either cracked in half or chewed up huge holes in my walls, but these drill in effortless and have held up to every hanging project that I have used them for.
Supposed to be 50 anchors and screws. Package had been opened and the label removed. Received 23 anchors and 17 screws. Looks like Amazon sold junk. Not worth returning. I will just use what I have and get more from Home Depot.
I've been using these for years and they're getting harder to find in the stores, so thank you, Amazon! Seems a lot of other businesses are selling the plastic version, which I don't like as well. I saw that another reviewer complained about a ripped wall, but that looked like a plaster wall, and plaster will crumble when you screw into it. These are for drywall, just as the package states, and I've never had a problem with them. I have also painted them to match the wall color when they show behind an object I'm hanging. I use them for heavy wall art, shadow boxes, small shelves, towel rods, coat hooks, earthquake anchoring, and more. I'll be very upset if they ever stop making these.
great product...better than the plastic which the tips break off causing wandering and a loose hole so the anchor doesn't hold securely..I wish they would offer only the anchors as most of my applications require other screw types..might be cheaper also..but untill thena well made fast and secure process.
Awesome anchors that can screw either into studs or drywall. Still worth figuring out where the studs are but with these anchors even you don't, the anchor will plug into the stud if you hit one, and no drilling needed just a good driver. I mentioned that it's still worth to find the studs because you don't want to hit the edge of the stud - you want to either hit 100% drywall or 100% stud not some weird combination but in any case the chances of this happening are very slim. The only issue I have with these are that their color is metal color so they don't blend with any color. Light anchors that are colored some shade of white/grey etc. are much less conspicuous when left inside a wall - these ones though will pop up from miles... the good news is that they are easy to unscrew out of the wall and then cover the hole, they are not like these anchors that once in, cannot be removed without considerable wall damage.Having said that, in general, there are many ways today to avoid anchors and screws altogether by using adhesive solution, especially for handing lighter weight items and I truly recommend to only use screws if you really have to (i.e. shelves, heavy items etc.)
If the drywall plastic version hits a stud, you'll need this "Stud Solver". Never had a problem with this anchor. Love it. Always have some in the toolbox
Better in every aspect than plastic plug inserts. Especially good for hanging flat panel TVs on a wall. 4 of these are sufficiently strong enough for a 60lb TV.
These go in and don't break while doing so. Quick and easy.PS if you do find a stud you dont really need an anchor, but this saves you the trouble of finding them.
I have been using these to hang whiteboards, pictures and even fire extinguishers at my various jobs throughout the years and so far without fail. They do what they are supposed to do and do it well. When you need more than just a drywall screw and cant find a stud...use these. One person commented they messed up his wall, well its common sense...always pre-drill and KNOW what you are drilling into (do not use these if you have plaster walls). I drill a 1/8" pilot hole in the drywall between the studs, gently push a phillips screw driver through making the opening about a 1/4" then place the tip of the anchor in the hole and screw until secure. Do not over tighten. Obviously the next step is to insert the screw. Personally I would not try to use these directly into a stud as the drywall could have a blow out if it doesnt grab right away. Its not rocket science. Unless you make it so...
I have been using these anchors for at least 8-10 years in three different houses i have lived-in (can you say "divorce"?) and i absolutely swear by these. It's true they're not quite as easy to use at the packaging material implies. Even though supposedly these work in studs, I studiously look for studs and never use these in studs (even if they work). I just drill my screws right into the stud if I can. But for drywall without a stud, these are super easy to use and hold really well. I use a little 9.6V Li-Ion cordless screwdriver to twist these in. It takes about 1 second. I am holding up towel racks, toilet paper holders, wall hangings, anchoring furniture so it doesn't tip in earthquakes, mounting light bathroom glass shelves, and whatnot. I just finished another box of 50 so it's time to reorder.
