Worked good for my gutters but the jaw depth does seem a bit shallow. This tool really is a must have for a gutter job though.

I was able to properly install a hard duct for my dryer with this. Who knows what other duct work I'll need to fiddle with over time as a homeowner.
This thing rocks. It is exactly what you need if you are doing ductwork. I have no experience with ductwork whatsoever and was having issues getting the mail and female ends to match I googled the solution and this tool was recommended. After the two arrived all of my connections were done literally within minutes. I don’t really care whether this helps the manufacture some more of their products however if it helps somebody like me that doesn’t know what they’re doing get the job done, all the better.

Great tool quality as always with Malco. For you newer guys DONT crimp the bead/Pittsburgh, it will blow the tips out.
These are nicely made and they crimp really well. I used them to curve some metal trim. So they have more utility than just for ducts.

This is an excellent crimper. Top of the line. Malco makes the best ducting tools in my opinion as an appliance installer. (Vent Hoods, ETC.) You can't go wrong with these crimpers.
Is it possible to love a crimping tool? Now that I have used this one, I would have to say yes. I really did not want to spend the money on a tool just to make one pipe slide into another, so I tried to do my crimp with regular pliers. After failing at this for about an hour, I ended up with a bent up sheet metal boot that STILL wouldn't fit into the supply pipe. So I broke down and bought this tool. It really was more money then I wanted to spend, but it is top quality, made in the USA (Love the little window cut into the handle that allows the "Made In the USA" stamp to show through. Nice touch that shows pride in U.S. craftsmanship. See second picture) . Anyway, I went over my "botched plier" crimping disaster with this tool and a couple of minutes later I had straightened out my bent up boot, and it slid right in as if it had been crimped flawlessly at the factory. Wonderful! Thought I might need a new one, but this tool saved me the money I would have spent replacing it. Highly recommend. Will look at Malco first for tools now, and disregard the higher price . This tool will probably last forever, and I know that I will remember the quality of it long after I forget how much I paid for it.
Works as intended. Crimped some stove pipe and pipe slid right in.
I haven't had any other crimper to compare this to, but it's really come in handy working on my old house's ductwork, and when installing a dryer vent. Be mindful that the side matters, with the three blade side being outward crimps it one direction, and the two blade side being outward crimps it the opposite. So read the instructions when you get it and it'll be a life saver. Heavy duty and solid quality, which I would hope for given the price, so I recommend it.
Nice in hand locking mechanism is great easy to use I mean self-explanatory if you’re in the trade if not read the directions overall great to use
If you are doing a lot of duct work I highly recommend this tool. It is easy to use, does a great job on crimping the duct. Depending on the amount of strength used determines the amount of metal compressed.
I hang duct for a living and these are always the crimps we get. Last as long as you take care of em..just don’t let anyone borrow your tools and they won’t get destroyed lol
As a master chimney sweep and HVAC guy this is what you are looking for. Ship the Chinese knock offs. That little rolling lock to keep it closed is awesome too.This is the one....
