This is the second malco set I bought ..the versatile part of it is a good Idea ...but I've lost magnets on both sets and now are useless to me in my line of work ..they are not impact ready ..
Magnet is a constant issue. Had several fall out and reattaching the magnet is only a temporary fix, only to be lost and left on a screw head again. magnet also breaks.
I'm an electrician so I carry lots of tools to begin with. The 3/8 and 5/16 bit is a must to have at all times. I keep this in my pocket and it's always available. I lost my old Malco 2 in one so I ran ti Amazon to buy another
The tool is amazing, if the magnet didn’t fall out. Of course since I paid for it I’ll continue using it and using bad words when the lag falls out. I work out of boom trucks so when one falls there’s a f bomb dropped every time.
I really like that you can have a 2 in 1 and clean off the magnet. I have a lot of tools in my bag and tools like these help cut down weight. I have the smaller version also and really enjoy them. Good add for anyone that uses nut drivers.
I've been using the 1/4" x 5/16" Malco for almost two years and have loved it. So, when I saw the 5/16" x 3/8" Malco for sale I bought it immediately. I can't tell you how much of a time saver these things are; I mean, you can switch from one size to the next by simply turning the head over. And those little metal scraps that clog up the inside of a fixed driver bit...well they are so easy to remove from these! Just remove the head and wipe the shavings off. And how convenient is it to have two sizes available? The 1/4" x 5/16" is probably the closest thing to a universal bit there is. I do controls installation and service and I can tell you that for about 90% of my work that one bit stays in my drill chuck. The reason I bought the bit with the 5/16" x 3/8" head on it is that I sometimes need to remove 3/8" screws from access doors on rooftop units. My fixed bit drivers have been relegated to virtually no use now and I will probably stop carrying them with me in the near future. I hope Malco will offer these great drivers in more sizes soon. I will be buying them if they do.
