A must have for trim nails, especially in hard to reach places.This one is the smallest I've found.The ones in Home depot and lowes are HUGE. This fits in pocket or tool belt and you forget it's there.
I used this tool to install soffit around our small barn. Walked away without one blood blister or blacked fingernail. I wish we had this when we did the house. Much better then fooling around with needle nose. Good value and have used it for several other projects. Every DIY guy should have one.
Like: Prevents mistakenly hammering your fingers. More effective than grasping trim nails with say, pliers.Dislike: It is long, which helps it from becoming lost, but it could be shorter to fit into tighter spaces. However, if you need a shorter one, it is available from another company for about $8.50.
It worked for what I needed, I just wish it could have an option to use with a thinner nail. But overal the product worked and made my job faster and easier than just holding the nail with my fingers on the corners.
This is the nail punch you want if you only want one in your bag - this one has almost no 'slop', excess between bore and punch - whereas the larger versions have quite a lot of wiggle between the punch and bore. The plastic is almost enough to keep it from rolling away, they could have gone a little wider or a little more tactile or a little more vibration absorbing. But still the best punch style tool on the market.
I tried another brand, but the copper nail heads were too wide to fit. This works quite well, and REALLY speeds up weatherstrip installation and takes out all the frustration. And you can pound the nails flush with this, no need to go back with a punch to finish the job. Simple tool, but a game changer for this use.

The opening is too small for the standard 1.25" aluminium trim nails that we use locally. So I drilled out the opening to accomodate them, and it works well enough after the modification.
I don't need it all the time, but when I need it, it's great to have. If you have done any type of siding or trim work, there is always a small trim nail that you can't hold and nail at the same time. I used this punch a couple of days ago and it did exactly what I needed it to do.
