These certainly work with the Simpson (and other brands) connector/plates. The one issue I have is they are not pointed sharp (not self starting), so have a tendency to just spin in PT wood that is hard for a long time before finally biting, and often times jerk out of the supplied socket when initially spinning using a variable speed drill/driver. Can't tell you how frustrating when on your back in tight quarters attempting to get a screw into a connector plate and the screw keeps popping out of the bit. Wish these were sharper and self-starters. Otherwise, once they bite, no problems, does the job.

I was sure that Simpson would only put their name on a quality screw. Then one broke far before it should have. Perhaps a defective screw? I'm not familiar with defective screw strength and I've driven tens of thousands. Screws have six times the holding power of nails by the way.Easy to install and look great but I suspect the strength may be below par. Still far better than a toe nailed nail I'm sure.
