Yes, I know it is a box of 100, but a 1lb box of bugle head deck screws costs less, and has ~180 screws. Yes I know it is not as structurally sound, which is why I bought these. But each Simpson hurricane tie uses 10 screws, so I am feeling "screwed"
love these. I know they're designed specifically to work with various ties/anchors but I also use them for many projects as they're great at self driving (no pilot hole), doesn't slip or strip.
We paid like $10 or so and have seen the price fluctuate on Amazon. At that price these are great for securing brackets to wood. They grip into the wood very easy.
I purchased these as they are by spec for the Simpson brackets. However, the 1/4 in heads don’t fit well in the socket driver and they seem to be of lower quality than other screws I’ve bought. If I did it again, I’d purchase a different brand with similar shear values.
