I bought this Proto ball pein because I really like the anti-vibe handle design, but wanted to save a few bucks compared to the Mac version. It’s pretty much identical. As far as the handle, it really works to cut down on vibration. The hammer is really well made, and I will continue to put it through its paces!
Same tools, just less money. If you hate your cash and want it out of your life buy this from the mobile con-artist. Otherwise buy it here and make fun of that dude who has the cool laser mark.
I'm a tech at a local dealership. I use and abuse my tools on a daily basis. So far this hammer has done everything I needed of it without fail. Has more vibrations than a wooden handled hammer but I don't have to worry about the head snapping off either. Great price for a good hammer. What more do you want?
I’m not happy to see that this Proto tool is made in Taiwan despite the proud made in USA video advertisement. Seems like a decent tool so far but only time will tell.
This thing is heavy and solid. Great for pounding the heck out of metal joints on the car that won't come loose. There's a 16oz and 32 oz version. I'm talking about the 32 oz version.
Great hammer, I've been abusing it for the past month since I got it. 2 lbs is a great sweet spot between a normal claw hammer a 4 lb drilling hammer. Great for automotive work. The ball pein end also happens to be the perfect size for knocking out U-joints on a 2008 F-250 without marring the axle itself.
Love it, i use my hammer every day, got tired of replacing broken hammer handles.Great handle very secure. I think this will last for years to come. ( Fabricator/welder by trade).
I might update this review, but I think I'm going to like them, I was tired of cheap Chinese hammers glancing off & denting so decided to try these. They are harder & ground flatter than the "junkers". I have a lot of hammers & name doesn't reveal the quality. I have some Snap-on hammers that are pathetic & some off the wall cheap ones that are good. You never know. All in all, I think I'm going to like these.
