Socket has good magnet but the socket hole isn’t deep enough it’s about 3/4 of the depth of the head of a bolt . This will probably strip tight bolts waste of money
Unfortunately the other reviews are right, it's too shallow. The socket fits well, but you have to be extra cautious not to lose grip and start rounding off bolts. That said it's the only 10mm 3/8-drive with a magnetic holsing feature I could find. Not sure I'd buy it again as I'm more likely to try one of the gripping sockets, but if they made a slightly deeper socket version, I'd buy that. This one is like shallow/low, if it was standard depth I'd buy 3.
I work as a maintenance tech for home generators, and used this for all my services today. Ill say first, the magnet is great, how they attached it is super. Its not just poorly stuck in with a dab of glue, its really in there! The socket itself is very shallow, so easy to round a bolt if you arent careful. The black coating is barely on there, thin as thin can get. It has worn of one side after one day of use, so dont expect it to prevent rust. Otherwise I love it, like having a third hand when you have 30+ bolts to put in sheet metal panels that you also have to hold while doing it.I am a bit concerned with the lack of country of manufacture stamp on it anywhere, but for the price its alright.Now to not lose it! Haha
No markings on whether this socket is made in USA or Taiwan or China. The magnet takes up a lot of room and this can cause you to round off a bolt if you don't seat the bolt head carefully.
Decently strong magnet, solid socket.It is very shallow though, and even small 10mm screws sometimes don't seat fully.I would buy it again, but only if I can not find a deeper socket.
