This pump is an absolute workhorse. It has been sitting in a shallow creek for 8 months straight and still works perfectly fine. I originally bought some strainer bags to try and keep debris out, but they actually caused more issues than not. Just let this pump do its thing.
Had to (partially) drain our in-ground pool to reduce the CYA. This pump makes it easy!That being said, the quality of the (Made in Taiwan) product is exceptional.
Hole in the box when it arrived. Threads on fitting are damaged and can not use. Needed to use it today and now have to rent one somewhere. May work great if could use it.
This item is exactly what I needed to get gallons of water pumped from my basement, we can focus on replacing the faulty sump pump. Highly recommended pump!
Used this just one time, and it worked perfectly. Happy to have it around just in case. Tip: After using it on our *messy* job, I ran it inside a 5 gallon bucket with garden hose re-filling the bucket for a while and it came out with no detectable odor
I liked that it pumped very well, however it could be a bit lighter and the Handel and all screws and bolts rusted on my very first use. I used it on my pool and all chlorine was out of the pool.
I previously hated emptying and cleaning my hot tub because it took hours to drain, etc. I bought this sump pump and this thing will drain my 500 gallon hot tub in about 10 minutes! You need to attach a special hose to it. I bought this one -- Abbott Rubber 1147-2000-50 PVC Discharge Hose Assembly, Blue, 2" Male X Female NPSM, 65 psi Max Pressure, 50' Length, 2" ID. It screws right on to the sump pump (no special couplings needed). So, yes, I did spend about $400 (sump pump plus hose) to make it easier to drain and clean my hot tub, which seemed a ridiculous amount of money to me. But I already invested thousands in buying my hot tub, so another $400 didn't seem like much to ensure that I keep my hot tub regularly drained and cleaned, and with as little time and pain as possible. Now I know longer dread having to do this task. I can finish in about 15 minutes, and then I can just start filling it up again (which takes an hour or so).This sump pump is super durable. It also is super quiet. You literally cannot even hear it while it is underwater. I've never owned a sump pump before, so this was all new to me. You just submerge this thing into the water and then plug it in, and then it does its thing. Obviously, it would work to remove any body of water (i.e., not just drain a hot tub).As for the issue of where to drain hot tub water, I was concerned the chlorinated water might kill the backyard grass, so I sent the hose around to the side of the house, an area that is mostly dirt and that I never water. Well, after emptying 500 gallons of water there, a bunch of grass has sprouted up -- ha! To be honest, I think if you just go 3 or 4 days without adding chlorine and get your chlorine level down to a low level (as per the little strip you put in the water to check the chlorine, PH, etc. levels), it would probably be fine to drain right onto the grass.
It’s helping me fight a flood.

Pump would literally suck out mud if you let it. I was super skeptical before buying but am very happy with this pump. Only downside is that it doesn’t shut off unless you disconnect
Yard floods every spring (so much so that neighbors and I have ducks swimming in our yards). Also floods throughout year if we get heavy rains. This pumps works great in my muddy, debris (leaves, twigs, etc) filled yard. Pumps a lot of water through 2 inch hose. Have used several times, no clogging, no issues. However, you will need to find a low spot in order to get the last two inches or water out. I ended up digging a low spot out and placing the pump there. Neighbors tried the pump and were equally impressed. Would recommend.

Works well for emptying a pool.
When the pump was plugged into a generator to help drain water from a ditch, nothing happened. When I brought it inside and plugged it into a wall socket to see if it was a generator problem, nothing happened. It also smelled like burned rubber. I set up a return for it, and the "shipping label" they sent me didn't actually including postage, so I had to pay $50 to send it via UPS.

Excellent pump. Draws about 5 amps. Very quiet operation. Just remember, once the water depth gets to about 2", it will start sucking air. To go down to 1/16" i got a Wayne water bug. Great little pump.Had a 50' hose on it and it was raised 7' up and the water coming out of it in the yard was like a fire hose.Really impressive! No clogs, worked great.Great buy. it really did the job. I'm totally set now to remove the water from any basement area if necessary.
We didnt use this for two years. We had a flood outside and it worked well. We have a decomposed granite backyard and the neighbor has lots of trees, thankfully it did not clog.
Read the reviews so I decided to try. Used for pumping leaves and water from pool cover. Will not pump leaves.
Don’t waste your time or money on any other pump if you are looking to move water. This is by far the rolls Royce of pumps. Trust me

Pumps water over a levee that is 10 ft high .
Instead of using a pond pump for my waterfall that will clog with debris I use this baby... runs like a champ moves 3000 GPH and will send through anything up to and including A small gold fish. (shake your pump a little before plugging it in if your fish are nosey just an FYI)
I actually got the 1 hp pump first and it wasn't that much more than this so I ended up just going back to this one. this pump to be a little too much for my size pond. I just would recommend googling the calculation to determine how much water your pond has and get the right pump to circulate your pond's water in 1-2 hours. My pond was a little small. Highly recommended
This thing really fits the bill for pumping non-clean water fast. Emptied the last 8000 gallons out of my pool along with the typical grime that builds up over the winter. It took less than 3hrs to empty the pool and leaves 3-4 inches standing. Very impressed. Time will tell the durability.
I bought this pump 6 years ago after using several other brand pumps. It stays in a creek year round and pumps several hours a day during the non winter months. So far still pumping lots of water as the day I bought it. When it does finally go bad, I will buy this pump again.

Had this thing for the last 2 years and absolutely love it. For a smaller machine it moves a good amount of water. Our yard floods with heavy downpours and this pump continues to save my garage from flooding. Highly recommend it. This thing is also built like a tank.
This pump is a beast it will move the water even with trash around the unit. We use it to empty a grey water line pond it is amazing! Easy to install just connect the tubing or plumbing that you wish to use and plug it in and let the pump work.
Customer service is excellent. Pumps trash water smooth and easy and does not over heat.
I have only usee this pump once but I use a varity of pumps regularly and everything about this pump is well made. I used this right out of the box for cleaning out sediment from the bottom of a industrial boiler sump, lots of sediment and hot water and it never skiped a beat. Six hours straight run time and several thousand gallons of water later and I have no complaints. Its a much better product than what you'll get at a box store.This is the three year later follow up review. We still use this pump regularly. We have thousands of hours of run time on it and it still runs like new. I would buy this again without hesitation.

I have used this brad and was very satisfied. Bought the new one and put it into service and found it pump fewer gallons then the one I had for years, to bad it used to be a good product.
Great pump for the money. I had used one for over two years in a commercial application in a pretty harsh environment. I purchased the same pump to empty my pool and spa. Works great !!!Be sure to purchase the pump, hose and flange as package. The hose is very durable.
