I'm disappointed in the volume of water this pump moves. It's would be ok for a static volume of water, that you are trying to pump out of a specific area. However if you have incoming water (i.e. flooding), of any significance...forget it. Get yourself something can move much bigger volumes of water. Also the float switch is tricky, and not very helpful. I ended up just rigging it up so that pump would just run when plugged in.

We used this pump yesterday during a rain storm when runoff from a hillside was overflowing a drainage ditch onto our concrete corp yard threatening a shed.The pump performed flawlessly. Within 15 to 20 minutes almost all of the water had been removed (approximately 1000 gallons). The pump is nearly silent. And it is designed so that almost no debris blocked any of the inlet openings.HIghly recommended!

Tsurumi Pump HSZ2.4S 2" 1/2HP Submersible Trash Pump with Ball Float Attached

I've had this for about a year and use it for pond and water feature cleanouts. It works well, and does not clog up. Very consistent power, and running dry for a few minutes here or there has not seemed to harm it. I only wish that it could drain closer to the bottom. It can only get down to a depth of a little more than an inch, which means some manual work to get the remaining muck out of the pond.

The item works very well as we have used it several times already to pump out various water features (spa, fountain,etc). We are holding the item in storage for the flooding rains we receive in Arizona. The first pump they shipped had a broken float during shipping. Amazon replaced it right away and shipped out a new one to us right away.

Tsurumi Pump HSZ2.4S 2" 1/2HP Submersible Trash Pump with Ball Float Attached

When the gas pump at work went down on its whole staying the pool we had to go rent a pump. The local rental companies were out of gas pump, and we ended up having to rent this model pump. We were pleasantly surprised by now well it worked. Not only does it push a good quantity of water, but it also easily handles small debris. We loved the pump do much we ended up buying one, and would highly recommend it to others.
